About

Grooming, trained & designed.

Dogs By Design was founded in 1999. The groomer who runs the business today grew up around it and is its second-generation groomer — trained first by watching her mother work, then formally through school and certification.

Her mother built the business around two things: close attention to each individual dog, and long-term relationships with the people who owned them. That approach carried forward directly into how appointments are run today — one dog at a time, clear communication, and a groom that's actually planned around the dog in front of her rather than run on autopilot.

She graduated from Paragon School of Pet Grooming in 2010 and worked from a salon-based setup before switching the business fully to mobile grooming in 2021. Continuing education has stayed a consistent part of the work since — through in-person workshops, hands-on certification programs, and ongoing coursework.

That approach comes from three places at once: hands-on grooming experience, a dog training background, and a graphic design eye for line, proportion, and finish. Grooming sits right at the intersection of all three — it's equal parts handling, technique, and visual judgment.

Sustainability

Run with the environment in mind.

Electric tow vehicle

The mobile grooming trailer is towed by an all-electric vehicle — no gas used getting to appointments.

Biodegradable products

Shampoos, conditioners, and finishing products used in every groom are top-tier, biodegradable formulas.

What that means for your dog

Calm, patient handling drawn from a training background — especially useful for nervous or reactive dogs. Mobile appointments are one dog at a time, with your full attention start to finish. Studio appointments allow for a couple of dogs at once, kept small and calm, still a world apart from a typical high-volume salon.

What that means for you

A straightforward, no-surprises appointment: clear pricing, a groom that matches what was actually discussed, and a dog handed back looking like the plan that was made for them.
